" Sadus fall somewhere between Slayer and early Death. Some of the songs included on the band' sophomore release are ultra fast. Every time I listen to "Swallowed in Black", or any Sadus for that matter, what makes them stick out from the thrash metal hordes is the vocals of Darren Travis and the insane bass performance of Steve DiGiorgio. The bass guitar is one instrument that is often buried in the mix on many thrash albums. That is certainly not the case here. Each and every note that DiGiorgio plays is heard clearly "

" The rest of the band is equally impressive. The music on "Swallowed in Black" isn't sloppy whatsoever, unlike some other bands whose music is played with such a manic fury. Rather, this band is tight. Fast double bass, insane guitar solos, etc. A few tracks do have a slight death metal influence, although I don't think that Sadus ever quite cross over into death metal territory. Songs like "False Incarrnation" contain some riffs that remind me of early Carcass or even Death.

" Born in 1991, Adramelech released the Grip Of Darkness demo and got a deal with Adipocere Records which lead to the Spring Of Recovery EP in 1993. The band's next move was the The Fall demo which brought them to Repulse Records. Repulse fit the band on one of its compilations and released The Fall as a 3" MCD. The band's first CD proper appeared in 1996. Recorded at Tico Tico studio (Impaled Nazarene, Sentenced, etc.), the album established the band as one of the heavier Finnish bands with Demilich and Demigod "

" 'Psychostasia' is an album, that is simultaneously demanding and alternating in its small space, but hugely catchy and very solid without any ill-placed element. The band was able to match hooky riffage, interesting turns and aggressiveness of a tank. The band wrote tens or hundreds of brutal, mystical, domineering and headbangable riffs and spiced it all with good lead guitar work. The songs are mainly fast, but there's slower parts as well as atmosphere-dripping ones, too. Hellishly lot of double bass drumming is heard! The lyrics handle ancient mythologies (eg. Vikings', Egyptians' and Greeks'), but the melody lines are nothing like Viking metal or Mesopotamian metal ones, but truly old school death metal "

" Swedish band Abhoth formed back in 1988 under the name of Morbid Salvation Army. They introduced Doom-ish melodies into typical Death Metal and wre one of the first Death Metal bands in Sweden "

" After recording two demos, "The Matter of Splatter" in 1989 and "Forever to Be Vanished" in 1991, they released their first and only official release, "The Tide" (Corpsegrinder records, 1992). Numerous line-up changes occured and the band recorded two more demos (1994's "Dormant Reality"also known as 'Divine Orphan' and 1999's pre-album "Recovery From Life"). With only one original member left, Abhoth renamed to Chimera and entered the studio in 1999 to record their first record with the name, but unfortunately broke up during one of the sessions "
