The Cleansing - Poisoned Legacy (2009)

1. Architectural Infinity
2. Flesh Recycled
3. Ghost Lights
4. Insects In The Void
5. Harnessed By The Shadows
6. The Prodigal Son
7. Deliverance
8. The Domino Of Phantom Effects
9. Derelict
10. Awoken At Gunpoint

Origin - Denmark
Style - Death Metal

" Formed from the ashes of Usipian...And also featuring members of Panzerchrist and Corpus Mortale (notably Martin Rosendahl also of Iniquity and Exmortem fame), the bloodlines and experience of The Cleansing are unquestionable, and it shows on their volatile debut album - a perfect mix of typically chunky Danish brutality and modern polished, death metal savagery "

" Brutal, aggressive and catchy are keywords when it comes to this record..The Copenhagen based quintet combine intense and unique melodies with both old school and modern death metal elements. Inspired by bands such as Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal and Immolation along with their Danish heritage to create one hell of an debut album "

" The Cleansing refuse to follow in the blastfest of so much modern Death Meal...Instead laying down slow-to mid-paced riffing and cool solo's...All the while the deep bellow of Martin (who did all the vocals for the LP) deliver an beastly sort of undertone "

The Danes are good at making the songs interesting by including many different facets in the music....And with a heavy production from Jacob Hansen makes for a fine album to rumble your walls !

Artillery - When Death Comes (2009)

1. When Death Comes
2. Upon My Cross I Crawl
3. 10.000 Devils
4. Rise Above It All
5. Sandbox Philosophy
6. Delusions Of Grandeur
7. Not A Nightmare
8. Damned Religion
9. Uniform
10. The End

Origin - Denmark
Style - Thrash Metal

" Artillery was a favorite of mine in the late 80s and early 90s..With 3 great releases that all sounded a bit different than each other...They always seemed to be expanding their sound. "

" Now The original band reformed in 2007 minus Fleming Ronsdorf..Who I thought was brilliant (Unique Voice)...And brought in Power Metal singer Søren Nico Adamsen...So How is this new record going to be? "

" Its actually very well done...Alot of the old sounding thrash riffing remains with some great guitar playing and wild solos.

Now heres the snag: Im not a big power metal fan...So it is hard for me to hear this high clear voice....But actually he does a decent job at what he does...Even an occasion when he sounds like Ronsdorf "

" Its a good come-back record made by a legendary band...That should have been bigger in the days of old....Hopefully they will get out and tour places they never did and play the old stuff !

Great riffing....Vocals: Hehhh whatever..

Panzerchrist - Soul Collector (2000)

1. Das Leben Will Gewonnen Sein
2. P2krieg
3. Der Panzertoter
4. Panzergrenadier
5. Schwars ist Unser Panzer (Ich Batt'einen Kameraden)
6. Unser hochste Ehre
7. Kalt Wie der Finsternis
8. Zum Gegenstoss

Origin - Denmark
Style - Death/Black Metal

" Inspired by the image of the famous German Panzer tank, this Danish band mercilessly crush through eight tracks of outstanding Death/Black metal. The band is aptly named as the music truly makes one think of the plodding, muscular, and unshakable machine of war that Panzerchrist idolize "

" Like the famous German efficiency, the band's musicianship is very tight, the riffs kick ass, and the production is excellent. The lyrics, which are all in German, are delivered in a vocal style that mixes low churning growls with an almost whisper like tone, with higher black metal-like rasps. Amidst these more typical elements found in this type of death metal are some fabulous guitar solos that more than a few times reminded me of Death. The grace of the solos provide a flavorful contrast between themselves and the rumbling no-frills rhythmic elements of the songs "

Fans of Brutal Death Metal mixed with Black metal overtones cannot go wrong here.......A necessity period !

5. Choked in Soil
6. Malignant Intentions
7. Autophagist
8. Weapons
9. Among Corpses
10. Necrophilistic Art
11. Concluding Carnage

Origin - Denmark
Style - Death Metal

" Classic Death Metal name for a band that comes with a classic Death Metal logo and a more than kick-ass cover artwork. I was damn sure that "From Hate Incarnated" is a brutal Death Metal album right from the start. The butchers did not disappoint me and deliver an album full of pure Death Metal holocaust "

" "From Hate Incarnated" is an album that will rip the listener with some ass kicking guitar work (these two guitarists surely know how to shred like Death Metal maniacs) and an incredible rhythm section. SPECTRAL MORTUARY have obviously been influenced by the US Death Metal scene, and mostly by great acts like Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation and I can say that they also reminded me slightly of the Polish titans Decapitated. The band is mostly based on its catchy riffing and great technique..But with some needed groove in there also "

This album is truly full of groove laidened carnage!

02. The Lions Are Hungry
03. Reality Check
04. Eye of Horus
05. Hellhound on my Trail
06. Fear of god
07. The Coming of ®age
08. Grapes of Wrath
09. Parasite
10. Day of the Dog
11. Low Life
12. The Blackest of Fawns

Origin - Denmark
Style - Death Metal

" This was the fifth release from long time veterans Konkhra "

" The weight and might of this album simply cannot be disputed, and it's nice to remind ourselves that there is yet another band out there who can do a damn good job of fusing thrash and death metal, especially with “Hellhound on My Trail” and “Day of the Dog.” The short staccato blasts of rhythm guitar are very reminiscent of the technique employed by The Haunted and Dew Scented "

" Reality Check certainly is an improvement compared to Weed out the Weak and Come down Cold. Konkhra are back in business with their groovy death thrashy music. Reality Check is a war themed album, and the cover art shows a burning city. War seems to be a popular theme for metal albums these days. The album was recorded in Lundemark's own Starstruck Studios, and has an overall good production "

Panzerchrist - Battalion Beast (2006)

1. The Lean Black Cruisers
2. The Gods They Do Not Give Us Long
3. He Is Dead Who Will Not Fight
4. Infants' Graves
5. Weep No More
6. Flame of the Panzerchrist
7. Lumps of Rotting Clay
8. War in the North
9. The Spirit of Soldiers

Origin - Denmark
Style - Death/Black Metal

" Bludgeoning, brutal, blistering and blackened, Battalion Beast, the fifth album from one of Denmark’s more consistent and underrated bands, is an exercise in no nonsense death metal savagery "

" The band is still delivering harsh, fast and brutal death metal, though this time around, like it was the case with the third album "Soul Collector", the band has mixed in a good deal of black metal elements, even more this time around, than it has been the case before, and that does not make the music any weaker. It is especially in the riffing, the black metal elements are most evident, fast, cold, melodic and disharmonic riffs paint a lot of the atmosphere, a cold, dark and nihilistic atmosphere....The vocals from Bo Summer are also well done, we get the, in the case of Panzerchrist, normal dark guttural growl and a more black metal inspired scream, both works very good and adds brutality, evil and sickness to the output "

" The drumming delivered by Reno Kiilerich is as expected from him, fast and relentless, though still displaying a good ear for technical and atmospherically details...Holy Shit this guy is fast !!.......This album fused the best of Brutal Death Metal with the cold and furious black metal riffing to make it one of the top albums in 2006 !

You cannot go wrong with this record !

5. Gates of Utumno
6. Unbound
7. Ravishing and Possessed
8. Diabolic Consumption
9. Cast from Hell
10. Sigil of Baphomet
11. The Lurker

Origin - Denmark
Style - Death Metal

" After a long break, Danish death metallers Thorium are back with the potent ’Feral Creation’....Their third release and first for Mighty Music "

" The music is still a blend of Swedish and American death metal, but in many ways it sounds more worked through than before. The Danes have been able to create a versatile and varied effort....To make it all complete the band adds a bit of a groove and some solos along the way. It doesn't hurt either that the music is quite catchy and easy to digest "

" Feral Creation was recorded at Berno Studio. Jacob Hansen later mixed the effort. The result is a meaty and clear production. It fits the music perfect as none of the details seem to vanish. And while nothing here is breathtaking Or Innovative.... Feral Creation is a dosage of high octane death metal that should appeal to most fans of the genre "

P.S. A cool Dan Seagrave cover too....

2. Souls of Tyrants
3. Fixed in Slime
4. Funeral Phantom
5. The Vultures Gather
6. Anger Trumpet Blow
7. Salvation
8. For the Grave of History
9. Slow Death Regimes
10. View to a Death in the Morning

Origin - Denmark
Style - Death Metal

" Absolutely agonizing Death Metal from the Danish masters of low-tuned sorrow. Funeral Phantoms manages to create a fresh new sound in the often stale Death Metal genre with a relentless, grinding style that seems to suck the air from the room "

" With "Funeral Phantoms", Exmortem changes their style of music drastically. Gone are the frenzied break-neck speed assaults, at least on the surface. Taking a full 180 degree turn, Exmortem now treats us to music that hauls itself along at an almost absurdly slow pace creating an aura of such dismal despair that one can’t help but feel utterly crushed by the relentless death metal. The music is characterised by the chugging guitars, which create a wall of sound and don't allow speed to enter the songs but in very small doses. Intricate riffs and signature changes make the songs avoid getting monotonous, in fact make them hauntingly interesting - each of the tracks is different from the others, but all share the same feeling of hopelessness and human despair "

" The production is thick, dark and ugly....Exmortem (2008) is darker than at any point before and I have no doubt that their slow, grinding and eerie death metal will earn them a lot of praise "

4. By Inheritance
5. Bombfood
6. Don't Believe
7. Life In Bondage
8. Equal At First
9. Razamanaz (Nazareth cover)
10. Back In The Trash

Origin - Denmark
Style - Thrash Metal

" From the 54 second intro track, through the final lulling riff of the closer, 'By Inheritance' is one of most successfully distinct Thrash records of its time. Thick middle-eastern overtones, melody, technicality, unique vocals... its all here "

" Its the strikingly distinct vocals of frontman Flemming Rönsdorf that get you right away ( I always thought he was brilliant)some did not...Unique they were.
Razor-sharp production, fantastic songwriting and a nigh-limitless supply of shit-hot riffs to engage and entertain. Personal highlights include 'Khomanic', the title track, and 'Back In The Trash'...but as a whole the album really doesn't have a weak moment "

" Shred, thrash, destroy, repeat. Simple as that. If you're fond of the technical melody of bands such as Annihilator, and/or unique Thrash vocals (think Overkill's Bobby 'Blitz' Ellsworth, but even further away from the norm), or even just have an open mind to something different, do yourself a favor and track this down !................Tragically overlooked classic.

7. There is No Savior
8. The Chemistry of Restlessness
9. Under the Skin
10. Fire Cleanses All
11. Sand Between the Teeth
12. Abstract War (assassin cover)

Origin - Denmark
Style - Thrash Metal

" On "Through The Flesh To The Soul"Invocator deliver fast, but also modern Thrash Metal. Songs such as the title track or "Infatuated I Am (Speak To Me)" go into the ear right away and take you with them through their cool riffs. Understand..it had been 8 years between records so I remember wondering what they would sound like? "

" As you might have guessed, killer riffs sure mean a lot for these guys, because every song is very varied, and the diversity of the guitar lines and riffs are awesome, with songs of approximately 5 minutes, you have to have some special quality to maintain your listeners interested. Influences are clear, old school thrash, but with a modern touch, take Testament, add Nevermore, and mix it with a pinch of Corrosion Of Conformity, there you have it: Invocator "

With a huge production from Jacob Hansen again...as always...this one turns out a winner !.....Now..If they can just get another record out before 2011...

5. Breed Of Sin
6. Doomed To Be
7. Lost At Birth
8. Land Of Misery
9. The Afterbirth
10. Weave The Apocalypse

Origin - Denmark
Style - Technical Thrash Metal

" I'm not sure what exactly to define this album as, because Invocator doesn't sound like any other band on this record. Mid-paced tech thrash?......heavy bone-crushing riffs with a stout production by jacob Hansen(guitars,Vocals), Per M. Jensen (the Haunted,Artillery) on drums....these guys created what I consider a masterpiece of metal "

" The vocals are sort of shouted, but very clear and not deathly. The riffs are really cool; they weave around each other and pull the listener into the songs, as the drummer, Per M. Jensen hammers out really strong beats. In fact, the drumming is some of the best that I've ever heard, probably due to the fact that Per is fond of jazz drumming. Overall, the music is very catchy, very heavy, sometimes technical (but not too much), but always fascinating....A true gem and one of the finest metal albums of the 90s, no doubt "

Meaning Cocaine....what you get with this record is....

"Groovy death metal, very heavy sounding and on the catchy side. The first couple of songs are played in a speed that reminds you of more modern metal and so do certain riffs. Illdisposed throws in a lot of old school death metal influences (and also some rock 'n roll influences)...This being one of their least popular records....even listed on their own website as (this album sucks)....I think its a very cool album and if you want to check out what these danish hooligans were doing a few years ago.......
