Liers in Wait - Spiritually Uncontrolled Art (1992) E.P.

1. Overlord
2. Bleeding Shrines of Stone
3. Maleficent Dreamvoid
4. Liers in Wait
5. Gateways

Origin - Sweden
Style - Death Metal

" Liers in Wait’s sole release is a product of its time in every sense of the phrase, a clear expression of the death metal zeitgeist, of the scene that bore it. Pretty much everyone remotely death-metalish in Gothenburg played in the band: Hans Nilsson from Luciferion, Daniel Erlandsson from Eucharist, Christoffer from Therion (before they went all goofy on us), Anders and Alf from At the Gates… hell, Tompa even sang for them, and this was before the days of him being in every band ever. Most importantly, though, it was essentially the brainchild of one Kristian Wåhlin, talented painter and all-around extreme metal genius. You may know him as Necrolord, painter of such classic album covers as “Into the Nightside Eclipse”, “Storm of the Light’s Bane”, and “Slaughter of the Soul "

" It may only be seventeen minutes long, but even four minutes of this stuff is exhausting. I don’t think it would be possible to write a full-length album of this stuff, and if they did, death metal would pretty much be dead as no one could ever top it. The only other thing this band released was a cover of “Angel of Death”, which was every bit as intense as this mercifully short death metal assault. This little MCD is essential for fans of At the Gates in their formative years, Therion and Atrocity before they sucked, and the mighty Grotesque. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here, for thou shalt not ever top this album no matter how good thy attempts be "

Its Grotesque !....Get It!
