Deströyer 666 - Cold Steel... For an Iron Age (2002)

1. Black City - Black Fire
2. Clenched Fist
3. Cold Steel...
4. Sons Of Perdition
5. Raped
6. The Calling
7. Savage Pitch
8. Witch Hunter
9. Shadow

Origin - Australia
Style - Blackened Thrash/Death metal

" Destroyer 666 was always good.......This album made them Great !........Their finest hour in my opinion "

" What these guys always had was a shitload of attitude that stood defiantly against any modern trends. Instead 666 took their own route by crossing the urgency of great Thrash Metal and tossing in the spitefulness of Black Metal...And the catchiness of Old Death Metal to boot "

" Every single riff on this album is as fast as lightning. That's where the thrash side of the band really shines. The guitar on this album just never lets up and its just pure aggression for the whole duration of this album"
Fans of old school German thrash such as Sodom or Destruction or the first wave of blackened metal bands such as early Bathory, Celtic Frost, or Mercyful Fate should seek this out now ! "

1. Weapons of Conquest
2. I Am Not Deceived
3. Blood For Blood
4.The Barricades Are Breaking
5. Stand Defiant
6. A Path to Conflict
7. A Thousand Plagues
8. Human All Too Human
9. A Sermon To The Dead

Origin - Australia
Style - Blackened Thrash/Death metal

" Its been 7 years since 'Cold Steel'........And all I can say is....The Destroyers are Baaack ! "

" 666 have always been a deadly combination of Black/Thrash/Death metal and have put out 3 terrific albums and a slew of Eps,7",splits....And here we are with their new one 'Defiance'. This one is no different...Crazed Vocals and blackened thrash riffing to go along with a evil atmosphere...And maniacal solo's "

" This shit is catchy.....That's the point...They don't have to be technical or ultra fast to get their vision across. Opening track 'weapons of Conquest' immediately jumps out and starts the onslaught...This is easily one of my favorite 666 tracks yet ! "

This one will make many a end of year list....If it doesn't.....Piss on those who defy the Destroyer's !

" Holy Cripes !.....I put this on and ....No campy intro....No keys or classical guitars....Just Walloping sounds of 'Altar Of Corruption'....Scathing,Tearing,Thrash riffs and black metal style raspy vokills wrapped in a crisp..Big Sounding production !.....33 minutes later and I am still looking for a break in this album...But There are none.."

" What you get to hear on ‘Homage To Martyrs’ is the perfect amalgamation of raw Black Metal and the thrashing mania of early Slayer. As raw, relentless and intense as it can get! Merciless sharp riffing and pure brutality from the darkest vaults of down under "

Abramelin - Deadspeak (2000)

1. Pleasures
2. Your Casualty
3. Waste
4. Bleeding Hearts
5. The Germ Factory
6. Flesh Furnace
7. Plague

Origin - Australia
Style - Death Metal

" 2nd (and sadly last) album for the band. There's no one particular band Abramelin sounds like, but they mix all of the sounds of the early 90s death metal pioneers, much in the same way Bloodbath has tried to capture the classic sounds of old school death metal. The production is good, perhaps a tiny bit fuzzy, but the guitar sound is really chunky, the palm muting really slugs your gut. The drums are done with a drum machine, but you may not notice that on your first listen. It's not that the drum sound is particularly organic (it isn't), it's just that the drums were obviously programmed by someone who knows how to write drum music. Many drum machines are setup very simply, with almost no fills, whereas the drumming on this album has all of the fills, tricks and flair of a real drummer (note: I have since been told that drum parts were written by Blood Duster drummer Rizzo) "

" Vocals are midrange growling. The thing that really makes this CD though are the riffs. Every song on the album has at least one riff that just makes me jump out of seat, yell "fuck ya" and then sends me off searching for something to slam into. Spectacular material, it's so sad that the band dissolved after this release. This CD is really hard to find, but it is so worth the money "

Abramelin - ST (1995)

1. Misfortune
2. Grave Ideals (Nekromaniak)
3. Spiritual Justice
4. Humble Abode
5. Stargazer (The Summoning)
6. Stargazing (Stargazer II)
7. Deprived Of Afterlife
8. Invocation
9. Cantara (Dead Can Dance cover)

Origin - Australia
Style - Death Metal

" Abramelin's self-titled debut album is a demonically heavy, crushingly brutal and breathtakingly technical metal record that wades waist deep in gore of a level so visceral as to leave virtually any other band of their kind reeling in disbelief "

" Musically, this is a masterful album. By 1995, goregrind was a genre that was already running out of ideas and it would have been easy for Abramelin, a band that formed as Acheron around the same time as Cannibal Corpse, to merely go with the flow. Fortunately this was a band comprised of some remarkable musicians with an obvious if sinister purpose. Guitarist Tim Aldridge is clearly the star here. The technical aspects of his riffing and the complexity of his arrangements are simply mind-blowing. His playing is sharp and brutally aggressive but still possessed of a very clever melodic sense, and his lead playing is stylish in a late-era Carcass fashion. If that's not all, he throws in a gloomy classical guitar piece slap bang in the middle of the gruelling corpse-fucking epic "Stargazer". Behind Aldridge is the faultless time-keeping of one of the country's best but mostly unsung metal drummers in Euan Heriot, a natural and fluid player who blasts without falling back on triggers and tricks. Topping it all off is Simon Dower, who delivers his lines in a bowel-quakingly guttural roar "

Abramelin is one of the greatest Death Metal bands from austrailia... And after allowing this album to mince your soul you will surely understand why....Essential listening !

Origin - Australia
Style - Progressive/Technical Death Metal

" Debut from this Aussie Quartet "

" Aeon Of Horus plays a hybrid brand of Technical (as in rhythms)...Progressive (as in soft and loud parts,Acoustics, etc)...Death Metal. This record comes in waves...First Acoustic guitars segueing into complex rhythmic crunching riffs..Deep gruff vocals that fit well and some cool melodic passages where the guitarist really shines "

" These guys are not signed !....It still amazes me to see a band of this quality go unsigned...and a million shitty acts get deals all over the place. But it is cool to see some guys put the hard effort into writing, recording and financing a top-notch record themselves ! "

These guys deserve your attention...So check this out and buy it if you like it !

Mortal Sin - Face of Despair (1989)

1. I Am Immortal
2. Voyage Of The Disturbed
3. The Infantry Corps
4. For Richer For Poorer
5. Martyrs Of Eternity
6. Innocent Torture
7. Suspended Animation
8. H
9. Terminal Reward
10. Robbie Soles

Origin - Austrailia
Genre - Thrash Metal

" Only a select few outside of Australia will remember Mortal Sin and their glory days brought about by their crunching debut 'Mayhemic Destruction' (1986) and their similarly heavy 'Face of Despair'. The Mortals succesfully toured Europe, then unfortunately folded, eventually reformed sans-all but one original member.
These guys were signed and thought to be the next"Metallica" as they were surely in the same vein...."

" Those who do remember the Mortals in their prime will remember the sheer thrash intensity of 'Face of Despair' as these boys from the Sydney suburb of Parramatta unleashed such ball-tearing thrash anthems as 'Voyage of the Disturbed', 'I Am Immortal', 'The Infantry Corps' and 'Martyrs of Eternity' and the catchy "Innocent Torture"......anthrax,metallica etc would be the closest comparison. Thrashing riffs with catchy choruses...(some corny lyrics)but who didnt in that era"

" If you love classic thrash metal, you can do far worse than hunting down 'Face of Despair'; or indeed 'Mayhemic Destruction !
