Cannibal Corpse - Bloodthirst (1999)

1. Pounded Into Dust
2. Dead Human Collection
3. Unleashing the Bloodthirsty
4. The Spine Splitter

5. Ecstasy in Decay
6. Raped by the Beast
7. Coffinfeeder

8. Hacksaw Decapitation
9. Blowtorch Slaughter
10. Sickening Metamorphosis

11. Condemned to Agony

Origin - USA
Style - Death Metal

" Well after a weekend of being couped up doing buisness stuff....I needed to get some aggression out....What better way than putting on some Cannibal and popping a vicodin and pouring a glass of Grand Marnier and putting on a hockey game muted of course "

" For those who have forgot...This is Cannibal Corpse's best album...Period..End of discussion.
Bloodthirst is 35 minutes of pure, gut wrenching, ear bleeding death metal. Corpsegrinder's voice is stonger than ever. Paul's drumming totally shreds most drummers in the genre, and while Alex and Jack are still writing the bulk of the music, Pat O'Brien has added three outstanding tracks to Cannibal's long list of horrifying, blood soaked music "

" This is C.C. at their most consistent and most deadly....I cannot for the life of me still believe they censored this artwork?...Nowadays comic books are more graphic. Alot of fans liked Chris barnes earlier work with C.C.....Nahh fuck that...Corpse is more powerful and I dont have to hear barnes whine off key....Anyway...This is a classic in the American Death Metal scene and a classic chunk of ear-deafening music supreme ! "

For those new to Cannibal Corpse...Is there anyone?....Start here and move forward....Look the early albums had their moments but this album brought it all together....

Dead Head - Kill Division (1999)

1. Kill Division
2. Cold Being
3. Waste of Skin
4. Six
5. Mahler
6. Sprayed Into Oblivion
7. Wings on Fire
8. Where Silence Dwells
9. The Hustler
10. Until the Sun Appears
11. Souls of Ice
12. Heavy Metal Thunder (Saxon cover)

Origin - Netherlands
Style - Thrash Metal

" Holland quartet Dead Head developed near the tail end of the big original movement in 1989, releasing a series of demos and three albums over the course of the next 10 years. "Kill Division" would be their third release in 1999 "

" Dead Head prefer the super sonic melt your face off approach to thrash- the one that makes fingers bleed on guitar strings and drum heads, as well as insuring buckets of sweat and possible limb damage from the crowd. Reference points would include Sadus, Kreator and early Dark Angel- with bassist Tom Van Dijk doubling on the vocals with a razor gurgling affinity for Mille in tracks like "Cold Being", "Sprayed Into Oblivion" and "Wings On Fire"

" It’s a shame this act isn’t considered in the same breath as the aforementioned groups, because they certainly have the ability, talent and songwriting skills to be in the upper speed death/thrash echelon.....Lost But Not Forgotten !

Hypnosia - Violent Intensity (1999) E.P.

1. Funeral Cross
2. Haunting Death
3. Undead
4. Perpetual Dormancy
5. Mental Terror
6. The Storms

Origin - Sweden
Style - Thrash Metal

" After two successful demos...Hypnosia put out this little ep via Iron Fist productions....And introduced everyone to their brand of thrashing mayhem"

" For all you thrashers who like to bang their head without mercy and still worship albums from Merciless, Sadus or Kreator...Hypnosia will take you back to the glory days. This album combines very successfully a lethal 'Pleasure To Kill' style of riffing and vokills that are identical to Mille from Kreator "

" These guys would go on to make the devastating 'Extreme Hatred" Lp and then break up.....No Bueno !

Recorded at Studio Fredman....unusual for thrash metal to be done at the famous melodic death metal studio...but turns out surprisingly raw and very late 80s sounding "

Adramelech - Pure Blood Doom (1999)

1. Centuries of Murder
2. Thule
3. Abomination 459
4. Season of the Predator
5. Thingstead
6. Lord of the Red Land
7. Evercursed
8. The Book of the Black Earth
9. Spawn of the Suffering

Origin - Finland
Genre - Death Metal

" 2nd release from these ex-Demigod Death metalers"

" Pure Blood Doom is well written, performed and produced. Adramelech generally keep the songs varied in pace and approach, with good riffs and rhythms
and the drumming is actually quite technical. This music is very similar to early Swedish death metal such as Entombed or Carnage yet bears the unique style of its origin which creates a broader, spacier, transient mood with more destructive conclusions. Like fellow countrymen Demilich and Demigod...the more times you listen to this the more you get out of it "

" The metal of Adramelech sets a different line of heaviness as rhythmic and not as much harmonic, letting the tones serve the violent rhythmic structures set forth. From the European tradition are the fast and grating blast beats, which resemble more musically literate Hypocrisy, but the meat of this music - the blasting and interacting structures that are set up for self destruction - comes from a lineage of downstroke brutalizers such as Massacre,Early Death etc "

Every once in a while theres a record that just clicks with you and you dont know exactly why?......This is one of those for me..........I just like the overall vibe!

Nominon - Diabolical Bloodshed (1999)

1. Malicious Torment
2. Sodom's Fall
3. Night of Damnation
4. Servants of the Moonlight
5. Cemetery of Life
6. Son of the Dragon
7. No Holy Ghost Shall Rise
8. The Sufferer

Origin - Sweden
Genre - Death Metal

" Though "Diabolical Bloodshed" may be Nominon's debut album, these guys have been kicking around in the scene long enough to develop some impressive skills and they certainly possess the conviction to raise the spirit of early 90's Swedish DM. Everything's in place here, from the Sunlight production to the cavernous and obscure solos to the gutteral graveyard rasps, this is textbook Swedish Death Metal and I can't think of any other textbook I would rather read. Honestly speaking, I am rather easy to please when it comes to this sound, but I know the difference between adquate and damn impressive and with its 8 songs clocking in at just over 37 minutes, "Diabolical Bloodshed" falls decidedly in the upper end of the spectrum. Guitarists Jonas and Juha fire off unrelenting streams of ripping riffage, but manage to vary the tempos with some crunch-filled doom passages while tossing in a good deal of agile-handed leads, drummer Emil and bassist Lemmy hold down some punchy rhythms with the former displaying some dextrous footwork and Nicke's inhuman vocals come blasting out from under the floorboards. Admittedly, if you weren't listening to this stuff the first go around, it might just sound a bit antiquated, but for those who remember when the Sunlight stamp made it mandatory this could be the album you've been longing for "

" This outfit contained Carnal Forge members...So what you get is fast paced Melodic Death metal in the At The Gates vain. Nothing new..but well played and a typical swedish production from that era (studio underground) "
